The passing year 2017 has been quite an adventure for me. Two years ago, when I was leaving Poland on my own at the age of 16 for a year abroad in the USA, I could have not imagined that this would turn my reality 180 degrees and become a start of the greatest journey of my life. The year 2017 has been the most challanging and most rewarding chapter of my life on the road!
I have spent it travelling between 7 countries 💫 and moving on my own from one place to another. Within 365 days I lived on 4 continents 🌎. I moved from the USA to Jordan and had been going to two very different high schools on the other ends of the world 👬👭 I welcomed the year 2017 on Times Square in New York City, as a student from Pennsylvania. Now, I am looking back at it in my home country of Poland, as a student from Amman.
My new beautiful home – Jordan
It has also been a year of exteremely challenging work, difficult decisions, and new, exciting projects. In the USA, I joined the United Nations conference in Baltimore. and watched the Presidential election in New York City with the New York Times.
In Florida, I took part in University of Miami Shark Research Project, where together with an international team of volunteers and scientists, I tagged the threatened species, took their blood and dived with hammerheads.
Mornigns at Miami Beach
In Turkey, I have joined the amazing Give a Hand team and worked with the Syrian refugee kids, teaching them English and distributing food to the families.
I have also started a larger journalism and photography project about the refugee life
Jordan extended to me the opportunity to join Habitat for Humanity, where under the United Nations Jordan, with an amazing team we have built a house for a family in need.
These past 12 month have not only given me an opportunity to expore the world, to expeirence international education, and live crazy adventures – but most importantly, they have gifted me with the beautiful people I met on my way. I am forever grateful for the support I received from you, guys and for the great work we put forward with our projects. Off all that I have done, I am most proud to have you as my friends. <3
